We bought this 2001 F150 Lariat for wife to drive while her truck was fixed ``` I have the truck now ~ been fixing this and that ~ but I've noticed pattern failures ~ like the electric door didn't work ~ you've seen how the inner door is put together ~ with a pop rivet holding the toggle ~ poorly done ~ fixed them ~ yesterday took the dash apart to re solder the pins to get the odometer to light up ~ this has been a problem for many years and FOMOCO kept having them made (I guess in Mexico) year after year ```

I've been working with the engine to make and keep it happy (haven't changed the plugs yet) want to have everything ready in case the threads strip before I do ~ that, the four thread holding the plugs in the 2 valve Triton was a design flaw ( should have been a recall I think ~ but NO that would be too costly ~ let the buyer take it ```

I've been getting information on the Triton ~ I hear the tensioners get stuck and blow gaskets ~ and the upper engine is starved for oil often and the ~ ( I also hear some people get lots and lots of miles out of these engine) I'd like to get some miles a lot of miles from this truck ~ it had 184K when I got it ~ runs well ~ I put a fuel pump in when the stopped ```

I've got a Bypass Oil Filter one now so the engine will be always clean ~ but I'm not proud of ford today ~ Ford was hell of a company once upon a time ~ I don't see that today ```

I still have our family car 30 Model A coup ~ that was the first engine ~ Father taught me to rebuild that engine ~ uncles had Ford Garages ~ I'm not proud of FOMOCO ```


This ford runs good and I like it ~ but I'm not confident that it's not in a self destruct mode ~ is the lack of oil killing the upper engine, the two chains slapping the plastic guides to death ``` Well that's my thinking brothers, what think you ```
