My 2017 has had every bulb in the truck switched to LED for over a year now. Changes were made in FORScan at installation time to eliminate hyper flash and there’s never been a single problem in all this time.
I’m now 1200 miles from home on vacation and a strange situation is taking place. If the right signal light is activated while my foot is upon the brake for more than a few seconds, it hyper flashes on the cluster and the airbag light comes on. As soon as my foot is off the brake the problem disappears. From the exterior the light flashes at normal speed.
This does not occur with the left side. Of course I don’t have the FORScan laptop with me.
Has anyone had this rather strange phenomenon? My initial thought is to restore as built information to the BCM and then try the settings that eliminated the hyper flash once again. Of course that can’t happen until I get home next week.
Do you currently have anything plugged into the OBD port?
This practice appears to often be responsible for weirdness.
Good idea. I do have a Z Flash module plugged in all the time. As stated it hasn’t been an issue previously, but there’s a first time for everything.
I went out and gave it a shot. It still happens at about the 5 second mark of the brake pedal being applied.
Do the right front and rear LED turn signals still work or did one die?
Signal lights flashing when they should at all 4 corners. Even though the right side has the hyper flash, the left rear seems to have a strange thing happening. When signal light and brake light are both on, top bulb flashes. Bottom bulb flashes but not in exact sync with top.
Switching bulbs from one side to the other changes nothing.
If this is an early 2017 could be water in the left rear frame rail connector, this problem causes all kinds of weirdness
I took care of the one large white plug on the passenger side to the rear of the spare quite some time ago due to intermittent trailer connected/disconnected messages.
I did see 2 smaller black plugs to the rear of the spare on the driver side. Maybe time to pop those apart, spray with contact cleaner and hit with dielectric grease.
Cleaning all rear plugs didn’t help. Now we have other issues that lead me to think it’s a BCM problem.
Stepping on the brake for 5 seconds or so causes the airbag light to come on regardless of turn signal operation. If the right turn signal is on it will go to hyper flash after 5 seconds of constant brake pedal, but left side operates normally.
Today while sitting at a traffic light I tried to adjust the passenger side mirror with the driver door panel controls. No power to the mirror selector while my foot was on the brake and the airbag light was on. As soon as my foot is off the brake, airbag light goes out and power returns to the mirror controls.
Looks like an appointment with the dealer when I get home from vacation.
I hope that you still have your incandescent lights at home to 1) continue the diagnosis and 2) (if it gets that far) to minimize confusion at the dealership.

They’re actually all in a ziplock and kept in the truck.
I just re-read the thread and don't think you've put the incandescent bulbs back into service. I presume that you are trying to enjoy your vacation. I also don't know what the FOREScan anti-hyperflash variable will do without LEDs.

You have it. It’s not enough of an issue to hinder the trip home.
When I get back I’ll see what I can do with FORScan. If that doesn’t work I’ll pull all turn signal & tail light bulbs and replace with originals and hopefully return factory profile to BCM and make a dealer appointment.
Well, things got a little stranger just before I left Florida vacation for my trip home to the NY/Canada border. Now when I'm stepping on the brake and the airbag light comes on, I am unable to change stations or adjust the volume on the factory nav/stereo head unit while using the dash *****. But I could adjust volume with the steering wheel buttons.
This is in addition to the previously mentioned hyper signal flash, loss of window control and interrupted power to the mirror control panel on the driver's door. A service appointment will be made in the next 30 minutes, as soon as the dealer opens.
