I just got a set of service manuals for the 66 F100. The only Auto trans offered that year was the C-4, if so when did the C-6 become available for the F100? What auto trans was behind the 352? Mine was a 3sp manual now converted to a cruisomatic and I am trying to straighten out a transmission mount problem.
I think that the cruisomatic was the trany for that year. I may be wrong. I have a 65 and it has a cruso in it. The mount problem may be due to the fact that it had a 3spd. I think the later year trucks 73-79 trany mounts will work for you, the frame is the same width at the trans as yours
The only thing you would find in a truck those years were a Cruise-o-matic. C-4's were in a car. Many swaps were done ( right or wrongly) back then after the original engine-tranny gave out. I'm not 100% sure, but the C-6 wasn't available until 67-or 68.
Looking at the vehicle indentification section of the 66 Ford Truck service manuals, if I am reading the charts right, the C-4 was offered for the 6 cylinder engines only. The C-6 wasn't available in pickups and the Cruisomatic was the trans for the 352. I think 67 may have been the first year that the C-6 was installed in F series trucks. I still haven't figured out my trucks floor pan interference with the top of the Cruiso. I picked up a crossmember from a 72 truck today at the wrecking yard and it looks very much like the same one. I am going to have to modify it to get the tailshaft to sit down an inch or so to gain the clearance I need. Weird!
