Good Monday all. It's cold and damp up north right now.

Enjoy getting back to the grind.

Overcast here, but it kept the nighttime temp from dropping into the 40s, and almost the 50s. I think the furnace only had to run for 3 minutes this morning.

It's raining here @SFO. April showers to start the month off. What happened to that groundhog? Did the groundhog see his shadow this year?

I think he (she?) did. With a name like Punxsutawney Phil, I guess it's a he. Not really relevant around the bay area. I was surprised to see a very light sprittzle today. Looks like we got slightly over 1/10". Weather guessers are revising the week's forecast. They are now saying a little rain every day this week, including Saturday, with Friday being a bit heavier.

Oh and as far as that rodent ground hog gopher looking thing , my grandson took it out with his tika 308 , let’s just say big dirt hole Nothing but very small bone fragments and what looks like Hide scattered about .it was a good day hunting on the Ranch.

Yah. Broke out our mower on Sunday, and it would not run without the choke. Crap. Symptoms are it will start (with choke), but won't stay running without. So I pulled the carburetor expecting to see gum in the bowl and elsewhere, but the insides were clean as a whistle. Grabbed a can of carb cleaner and sprayed all the jets & they were clear except for the high speed jet. It would not "blow". Used a very fine wire to clear it, and it seemed to open up, but after re-assembly no go. It's one of those Nikki carbs where the high speed jet is fixed; no adjustment.

So I got on eBay and found a new one for $25. Ordered it. Hope it gets here soon. I can hear the grass growing from inside the house.

Was sunny and clear yesterday except for a brief thunder and lightning show for about 30 minutes or so about 4pm, followed by a deluge of rain, and small hail for maybe 10-15 minutes. Then it stopped abruptly and cleared up. Strangest thing I have ever seen.

As I was cruising around last week, I found a shop in Redwood City which repaired lawn mowers. The kind you push. Pretty busy looking also. I had no idea that a shop like that could even exist. Living in The City, I never knew that there were so many people with push style lawn mowers, and that a shop was repairing them.

I think I know that shop. The eBay carb came in this afternoon. Hopefully I can get it swapped this weekend. The grass now has a 1 week head start on me.

Happy Saturday fellers, Manteca street fair on the agenda today. Started paperwork for my birthday present yesterday. New Springfield TRP chambered in .45 ACP, can't wait to shoot it! Anyone else have a chance to get some high capacity magazines before the changed the law again?! Alquist arms sold 2000 mags overnight! Anywho, enjoy the weekend

New carb did the trick for the mower. Got about an acre mowed, but it was still too wet from all the rain. The idle adjustment screw was actually just idle speed. The jets (both high and low speed) are actually fixed; no adjustment. I guess they make the carbs to work on certain size engines, and that's just the way they work. Too bad we could not get the high speed jets to clear with carb cleaner.

I re-used the old 150 micron filter. You could see through it, so it looked like it had never stopped anything. I ordered a new 50 micron filter & will put that on Wednesday (that's when the store says they will have it).
