mine is ALMOST original... well, at least the cab is... well....if you don't look at the changes

Oh no. Only Deluxe Cabs as they were called in 53&54 and the Custom Cabs as they were called in 55&56.

The 56 cab of my pickup had one and it wasn't a Custom cab

You could get them as an extra cost option.

Unless all 56 cabs got them.... BigWin will know Fer sure.

It was an option only. Most trucks did not come with them

I thought I had a new book or an old piece of Ford literature that listed how much each option cost. I searched for it tonight and could not find it......

yes the custom cabs came with it but the non custom cabs rarely had one as it was an option
