We have a 2014 Jeep Rubicon that has a radio that uses a usb port to access songs on a flash drive. We just purchased a 2019 Kia that also has a usb port for a flash drive.
My question is, what upgrade is the cleanest to replace the stock radio and cd player on our 2012 PSD. We have 1 tb of songs on a flash drive while the same amount of songs fit on over 24 cd's.
It is much safer not having to replace cd's on a long trip.
I want a radio that looks like it came from the factory. Also need to be able to pair with our phones.
btw,,,, just checked our odometer and it just passed 19k. I need to drive it more.
We have other vehicles, and our PSD is by far the most comfortable on a long drive, although we have only 300 miles on our Kia, so don't know how it will be on a long drive.
Which trim level/radio is currently installed? I take it you don't have the SYNC system? Crutchfield has a good "Find what fits your car" feature so you can see some options for your specific vehicle.

Just a little off topic, 1 TB (terabyte) would be equivalent to 1,248 CD's.
Well, if it looks something like this, it's a standard double din radio. Places like crutchfield or sonic electronicx ask for vehicle info so they can send you the right mounting kit's, wiring harness adapters etc. You can even get a harness that will allow your steering wheel radio buttons to continue to control your new radio.
I recently replaced the radio in my 2012 F350 with a kenwood carplay unit. Was a pretty straightforward install, aside from my determination to make everything look factory.
My truck is 2012 King Ranch, had the standard AM/FM/CD head unit with sync. I was able to keep everything functional with the Maestro RR, and Maestro wiring harness.
I can't believe it......... Yes I have the input near the glove box.... I purchased this truck new in 2012 and never saw it. Looks to be a usb port. I will try it out. The odometer reads 19,085 miles. I guess I better drive it more. I will try it out and see if it will play music from my flash drive.
Just inserted the flash drive in my usb port by the glove box and my radio will not play the mp3 songs.
After calling two Ford dealerships, and they said it would not work, I did not give up. I kept playing with it and here is what you have to do.
1. Insert flash drive into usb port.
2. Press voice button on steering wheel.
3, Tell computer to "connect usb"
4. Tell computer to "play all"
5. That's it..... enjoy your mp3 files on your radio.
Flash drive has to be 32gb or less, also must be formated for FAT32.

You are correct,,,, I should have said my 24 cd's came out to just under 1 gb of mp3 files, Not 1 tb.
So even a 8gb flash drive would be enough to hold around 192 cd's.
