Engine Knock
I got a 90 F150 with a inline 6 and it has a slight knock. It's not a hard knock like a mechanical knock (piston etc.) but more of a muffled knock like maybe an exaust leak. I looked the pipes over and didn't see any soot that would show a leak. Is it possible the smog pump makes a noise like this? It's doing this on hard exceleration in the middle of the power band.

This "knock" started after I changed my spark plugs. They were in bad shape and one was loose when I took them out. Changing the spark plugs made it run better (it missed before). I don't know why changing the spark plugs would make this knock start. I pulled them all again last night and they all looked good and made sure they were tight and it still does it. LIke i said before it only does this when on the throttle hard halfway through the powerband. I even double checked and they are the correct plugs. I did change the cap and rotor....Is it possible it's slightly out of time?
