So with the campground opening back up, we are practically living there again. And it's a long commute. Between the gas and mileage on expensive tires, it just doesn't make sense for me to keep driving my 6.2. I know I said I would never go back to diesel, but I also said unless I had some major life changes. So I'm considering it. Going to look at a truck I found this weekend. It's a '84 Mazda b2200
thats funny that this came up because the night before I was going to see if there were any 80s diesel rabbits out there.
then I remembered a coworker in the 90s that had a long commute and he had a little red Ford Fiesta. but I dont know if it was diesel or gas
It ended up selling before I could make it to look at it. I just posted this to be funny, figuring a few of you would freak when you read it. I'm not really hung up on a diesel, although I wouldn't mind one of those. I'm looking at a bunch of different things. Lincoln ls', old VW Bettie's, all the Japanese mini trucks, TDI VW's among others. I'm probably going to hold off until the end of April when I get my bonus and a better time to sale the Jet ski. That way I've got more cash to put towards or fix up whatever I buy. Last year I bought a Scion xB and played with it before selling it to buy the wife a Jeep. I just like tinkering and flipping them when I get bored of them. Whatever I get, the 6.2 stays. It's not going anywhere for a long long time.
When I first saw your thread I figured the mpg's got to you.......but was glad to find the humor in your post.
Yeah, the 3-4 mpg increase with a powerstroke just wouldn't be worth the risk or higher cost of fuel and maintenance. At least not for my occasional towing needs.
its not the end of the world if we went back. I can promise you if I started towing heavy daily long distance I wouldnt think twice about getting one. But it wouldnt be a powerstroke.
It would be a solid work truck. Ram + Cummins
A little late to the game here Ron. I just came across this and I FREAKED OUT!! Lol you got me for sure. Was glad to read that you’re not getting rid of your truck. A small diesel truck would be nice for everyday running around no doubt.

Of all people, I'm glad I got you! You can go back and look at my build tread on April fools day a couple years ago. You got me pretty good when I was trying to figure out where a bolt went that fell out from under my hood on a new truck.
Not a terminator, I wish. The only thing cobra on it is the hood and brakes. It's got a Mach 1 chin spoiler. I bought it off a co worker for a good price. It's a high mileage car in really good shape.
