Cool What goes here?

'

94 F-150 XL, 4.9 six, 5-speed
Have a spot where something was at one time.
Now there's just a couple of mounting holes and a couple of loose plugs below.
Anyone know what's missing here?

Thanks!

Same on my 95 and they are used for some configuration we don't have. XLT stuff as I recall. It has been posted before. Sandy

I was thinking maybe cruise control module or something.
Or maybe a power steering pump whine controller! (if only!!)
241 K, runs fine; if it ain't broke...........

Thanks again!

This helped mine some. Some folks have put Saginaw pumps in with minor modification. Some Ford Econolines used them. Junk Yard stuff. You can search for the mod.

I think that plug is for trailer lights. Not positive. Sandy

The holes are for holding the harness for the automatic transmissions.

I feel like I’m missing something. What helped yours some? The Ford brand type F fluid over other brands?

I have a Saginaw pump on my Bronco (351W) and I procured another for my pickup whenever the OEM Ford pump dies. Look for a 302 or 351 powered Econoline van. I got the whole pump and bracket assembly for ease of assembly. That way I don’t even need to R & R the pump pulley to swap it out.

Yes the Ford fluid helped some. Next time I go to the JY I am going to look for a Saginaw. Sandy

Marvel mystery oil and a turkey baster worked wonders on my power steering whine. took a bit to suck it out once a week and then add fluid back but it is half as whiny as it was.

Zombie you love that stuff. I can't wait until you put it in your radiator Seriously though, I read reviews on it last night and they are mostly like you. I will say I never read about using it as PS fluid. How long have you had it in there and I assume its 100% MMO in there. Sandy

I been using it for ages. And no it isn't 100% MMO in there. I suctioned out maybe 6 ounces of old PS fluid and added the same of MMO back, went lock to lock on the steering a few times, drove it for about a week with it in, then suctioned out about all i could with the baster, added PS fluid back and drove it for a week, repeat, then added MMO one more time and drove it for a week, sucked out as much as I could from the system and added PS fluid back and called it good. MMO is a good safe gentle cleaner, my Granpa used it, Dad used it, I used it when I started driving... always have some on hand.

OK Makes sense to me know. Yep a lot of the reviews had 50-60 YO users that used it all their life. I read where Turtle Wax bought MMO in 1999. Sandy

it was developed by the guy who founded Marvel carbs back in the 1920's, in WW2 the US used it extensively in high altitude bombers and fighters to keep the engines clean and lessen the down time on them, Paw Paw used it on everything he owned, Dad used it as I used it on all my vehicles so far. I won't make claims about it being a miracle worker but I used it instead of Stabil, run it in all my small engines, my truck runs smoother when I add it to my gas tank tank and I worked at an air boat shop in florida for a while and worked on aircraft engine powered and automotive engine powered airboat engines, we used it to break rings free, used it in aircraft engine powered airboats (lycoming and Continental, franklin, etc) Some guys claim better MPG from using it, I don't use it for that, I use it to keep the fuel system clean and as a top end lubricant for the valves and it keeps the cylinders cleaner... I have had good results using it in a wide variety of applications and it is a heck of a lot cheaper and gentler than other cleaner type fluids. I can get two quarts of MMO for about the price of a single can of SeaFoam, which is a good product in it's own right.
