Liquid Glass
Has anyone used this product on aluminum? After much research, trial & error, I've found that Laquer Thinner and OOO steel wool cleans and shines the aluminum the best, but what will keep that shine the longest? I've tried most every polish out there then ran into a post about this Liquid Glass stuff (rather than waxing).
Reading about this stuff on their main site sounds promising, but also like a lot of work. I'd like to know that it will be aluminum friendly and be able to hold the shine for at least a couple months before I go and put that much effort into the fuel tank, rims and "huge" dump box.
Any thoughts or comments are appreciated.
Bottom line .. you should be fine with LG.

an item 3/8" piece of diamond plate after achieving the luster
that i wanted from just buffing. I sealed it with 4 coats of liquid
glass this was 3 months ago & it will still blind you in direct sunlight. FYI use it in the place of rain x the liquid glass coating will out last the rain x by 20 times or better these results are @
3 coats 1 every 4 months [ before you apply liquid glass 1st time
clean all of the glass rear, door & moon roof with bon ami its a gold can with a baby chick on it ] It works wounderful on chrome wheels even on factory clear coated wheels have been using this product for over 10 years now had one car egged & they all slid off the finish. I buff the tail lights & head lights once a year with
this product. I guess by now you can tell that i am a big fan of this product i would not be afraid of using it on any polishable
surface just do it . turbo ted
The real test is how the tank looks after it's weekly cleaning this weekend. If it holds the shine and keeps the oxidation away, I'll be impressed. Then I can start on the steps, rims & box. Heck, I might even get ambitious and do the diamond plate box & rails on our F250.
BTW, does anyone have any magical trick on how to get that aluminium black stuff out from under your fingernails, other than time??

In fact; I do.
Lava bar soap and a tooth brush (or I guess you could use a fingernail brush).
Hey, it's cheap enough to try and your hubby will never suspect you used his toothbrush . . . if you only do it once in a while.
