VIN question
looked at vin decoder and 4th is a number - not a letter
example 1979 (f14h) f150 351 - my new one reads 1977 (f145) f145LY
have looked at several decoders and all state 4th one should be a letter
77 150 is what im working on

You should be using this decoder from fordification. That or post here and people can help especially NumberDummy.
Btw they show a 5 decoding to a 74 FE360 engine

It could be an S which would be a 77 400.
Again post up pics of the warranty plate on the door and the sticker on the door jamb.
