I did a complete front set from The Seat Shop and one set of bottom seat covers from an eBay supplier. The Seat Shop is HANDS DOWN the best of the two, and are perfect OEM replacements. The DS seat bottom seam edge is showing some wear, faster than I had expected (roughly 5 years), but I can touch that up before I sell. I would not go the eBay route again, but would stick with The Seat Shop for any future work, even if they cost more!
Brain, how did you get Lariat back on the seats? When I asked the seat shop they said they wouldn't or couldn't do it.
Now THAT must be a recent change, because every time I've ever toured their site looking for prices or getting ready to order, it was always an option.

No it's been a while ago. So maybe over the years they've changed what they can or will do. I have never gotten my seats but I am really looking before this years trip. So many have said it's like riding in a new truck again after install. I plan on the foam for the front seats also. My drivers side really beginning to get bad. Passenger side not so much. Trying to decide if I want all leather or the carpet on the back. There is also a guy my son used that did his drivers seat, got to get a price there as well. I really hate the thought of install myself. I guess I'm showing my age.

The install isint to bad, kinda like trying to dress a toddler, except the seats dont squirm and yell “NO!”
It took me one day for the first seat, than about 3 hours for the passenger side.

Did you do the center section to? I have the 60 40 seats. I here that part is the hardest. Then you really need a table to work on to. Good reason to clear the garage I guess. Seems like I have a lot of things from family members they don't have room for.
If you can get an extra pair of hands on the cover installation, it's a real benefit. My last set of covers took only about 4 hours start to finish for both front seats (top and bottom).
I can't remember which, but one of the seat cushions (I'm thinking it's the PS) has been almost impossible to find "new" for a couple years now. I replaced my DS cushion with brand new foam and used the steaming technique to "reinvigorate" my PS seat cushion -- it really works, too, because you can literally see the foam expanding as you steam it up!
So Pete, the DS and PS cushions aren't the same? I would think both bottoms would be the same? But I would see how Steam would help on the covers to.To stretch them over and look nice.
The cushions are not the same. The outer thigh portions are different sizes so that the outside portion (towards the door) is larger than the inside portion (towards the console/jumpseat) which is smaller. Since it is reversed between sides the bottom cushions are not interchangeable.
Correct... different covers and cushions for the DS and PS.
ALSO... NO STEAM on the covers... the steam is for reconditioning the SEAT FOAM ONLY.
The Seat Shop used to have some videos of how to do the steaming. When I did mine, I just bought a $25 garment steamer as a throw away device and it worked beautifully on the PS cushion. Probably increased the dimensions on the foam by at least 1/2 inch in all directions which made for a really snug fit with the cover, but it also compensated for the years of compression inside the OEM cover and it felt like the DS brand new one once I finished the install.
Thanks guys. I really didn't think there would be a difference. I thought I saw somewhere, where they steamed the cushion to stretch it over the cover to make a prefect fit. I guess I was wrong.

yea, I have the pictures of doing it on my phone; been meaning to update the build. Basically the bottom cushion is 5 seconds, its the top section and armrest that are a bear. You have to strech and staple the fabric in place, and the lid was especially fun. If I were to do it again I think a good cleaning on the center section and call it quits would be enough. Nobody sits there and its always folded down.
