Dual front shock setup

So I’ve wantwd to do this and now with the front end rebuild it’s as good a time as ever. I want to convert to dual front shocks on my 79 150. I need some help finding the necessary parts to do so. Can anyone assist? I’ve attached a photo of the current set up, and if more info is needed please advise. Any help appreciated.

Why? Dual shocks on street trucks were common when getting the correctly valved shocks was huge $$$. You would just throw on 2 regular shocks on it. Today you can buy the correctly valved shocks to run singles that can control the suspension. Buy a quality shock, bilstein, fox, FOA, etc. Even long travel suspension trucks, think pre runners, have gone to single shocks that are valved in stages, rather than multiple different valved shocks.

Not performance based at all. Totally cosmetic. I love the old school double shock look. Simple as that.

I have a set of dual shock mounts for sale if you are interested. Don't know if they will work for you...my truck is a 76 highboy with leaf springs.
I only have the mounts that hold the shocks to the frame. Nothing to mount them to the axle.

I took them off a few years back...been sitting on a shelf since.

If you want to run factory mounts you need the set up off of a 78/79 F150 or Bronco.

I also have a set of factory bronco dual shock mounts. Mine came off of my 1979. I'd let them go cheap. They are kinda rusty but still structurally sound. PM me if you're interested.

I have a complete setup for dual front shocks off a 79 Bronco if you end up needing them.

Alright so one of the guys above was gracious enough to sell me an awesome set of factory shock towers. They look great. Now I’m always one for not studying everything ahead of time and this is a prime example. On the passenger side the front bracket will bolt right up to the frame. On the driver side however the front tower won’t, as the drag link bracket is bolted to the frame exactly where it needs to go. I know there is a setup that bolted right on to this, or am I missing something on using this factory tower??? Any help appreciated

What's it look like? Does it just bolt under the track bar bracket? Would there be enough room for a shock? Anything I see online about dual shock installs is combined with a lift and they use a dropped track bar bracket and tubular shock mount. The oem stamped steel dual shock mounts from the 80ish+trucks won't work because they had the TTB front axle and no t bar. You need a 70s specific part.

After looking at pics of stock f150s I think you'd need to mount it behind the original shock with a shorter, and differently rated, shock. I doesn't look like you can mount them on both sides of the spring without aftermarket parts.

One in front of coil and one behind. The factory bracket is already made on the plate that mounts behind the spindle. The passenger side, no problem. The driver side has the track bar mount in the way. I’m going to modify it if I have to. Cut this shock post down and bolt and weld it in. Just looking for someone that has the original factory set up so I can see it more or less.

No sir. Mine is the single frame mount tower. See the drag link bracket in front of the coil? That’s where I’m hitting a road block
