Fuel Pump running after shutdown
My father has a 1990 F250 4x4 extended cab (I finally converted him over from Dodge). It has a 351w and duel fuel tanks. It has roughly 50,000 miles on it. Recently he has noticed whenever he turns off the ignition on the truck, he hears the fuel pump running for some time after it is shut off. He switched to the other tank and drove it for a while and when he got home, it ran for 10 minutes. Then he switched to the front tank again and it quit.
I searched the archives for something similar and came up with nothing so I am posting this question here. Anyone have a similar problem and what was the solution? This can't be good.

Thanks to both of you. You are both right. My dad took it down to a friend of his at a local shop and they replaced the fuel relay for $31 and problem solved. I guess it is on the drivers side fender or firewall.
Thanks again.
