Has anyone got any information a 41 spline M300 locker yet? I have been emailing both Eaton and ARB and neither seems to have any desire to build a locker.
I am in dire need of a locker in my 550. Even in 4wheel drive I have constantly got stuck this winter in snow and ice. My truck is a service truck and goes off highway almost daily. We have thought about tire chains in the interim but you cannot run those on the highway daily. They must be put on once we arrive at the jobsite.

I assume you have an open in the rear?
Put an oem Dana limited slip in the rear and an Eaton Truetrac up front.

I believe the factory limited slip in rear is 37 spline not 41 spline. It's for SRW m300 I believe. I have DRW 41 spline m300. When I special ordered the truck they said limited slip was only with SRW m300.
Not an ideal solution but a stick welder can lock that rear up for a very low price. Otherwise, I bet a machine shop could make you a spool relatively easily.

We have only 4k miles on the truck now and it cost nearly $80k with all outfitting done so we would definately not go that route at this point. I appreciate the simplicity of the idea however, it just wouldnt work for this rig.

So you can spin the truck around on ice, break shafts and lose a warranty? Seems like a terrible idea.

Look into instachain or rotogrip. I have Rotogrip on my service truck and it works well. Pretty much every municipal vehicle here has automatic chains and the technology is proven. I use them in mud,ice and snow.

I perfectly understand. That is a lot of money to spend on a truck and I personally would want a tru-trac or something like that. It just sucks that the answer hasn't been made yet.

I never said it was a good idea, just that it was possible. Depending on the use of the truck, if you are that desperate for traction, it could be done.
The 450PU comes with a limited slip rear, and the axle is the same for the 450PU, CC, and 550CC. So if you want to spend the money, a factory LS is available.
Id just put a Torq lock in the front. $500 in parts and you can install it yourself. Part #TL-16035-TOR

Is the front axle a super 60?
Thanks

No such thing as a SRW M300, only the dually trucks get them. The 350 and 450+ use the same ring gear and carrier, just the side gears are splined differently to 37-41 like you mentioned. There is a limited slip in 41 spline flavor available. The front axle is a Super 60, however, any Dana 60 carrier will work provided it is 35 spline and the proper carrier break. I imagine you will need 4.56 and up carrier break since most 550s are 4.88 ratio.
Since you have $80 Grand in the truck already, you can get a true locker from DBL Design if it is that important. Not going to be cheap though. >> DBL Design

Does anyone know the factory part number for this 41 spline limited slip carrier or where we would look to find it? When we special ordered the truck, Ford repeatedly told us the limited slip was not available for the 550. I assumed it had to do with the splines but they could never give us a direct answer.
This Q and A claims the 350 and 450 are 37 spline. So that is why we assumed the 550 is the only one with 41 splines and why Ford said there was no limited slip for 550

Anyone know what the deal is here?
37 spline referenced in that article is the Dana 80. EDIT: Article is wrong, the 450 gets the 41 spline M300, 350 gets 37 spline m300.
Below's a part number for a limited slip differential and 41 spline.HC3Z-4026-H
