Chrome Vent Windows

Hey everyone,

First post on the forum. I'm been working on my truck on and off for the last 5 years. All without knowledge this forum existed. Great info. I've been missing a lot.

I'm getting ready to go have some interior work redone and while I was gathering ideas I came across some vent window assemblies that are finished what appears to be chrome other than the standard black. From my understanding the assemblies are not reproduced, so i was wondering if anyone had any extra info or of idea of how i could get this done. Can I get my existing ones dipped? or are these from a different year?

(sorry not the best photos. they are screenshots zoomed in).

While I'm at it. I should probably post a garage pic of mine.

Vent frames:

1967 F100/750 is 1967 only (C7TZ-8121608-A Right / C7TZ-8121609-A Left).

1968/72 F100/750 is different (C8TZ-8121608-A Right / C8TZ-8121609-A Left).

Parts catalog doesn't list the finishes.

You can get the frames chromed. Most (quality) shops will want to remove the upper and lower pivots. That means drilling out the rivets and re-riveting those parts back in after the chrome job is done. It's difficult for them to strip and polish with the small parts in place.

"kmcypress", Welcome to the Forum. For not having any help, you've done a very nice job on that truck.

Kmcypress are you sure that the vent frames are chrome. ? they could be stainless. Ford used stainless on the West Coast mirrors, and i think that the trim around the drip rail was also stainless.

killer looking truck! And good to know. I bought some extra vent window assemblies off fleabay and was going to basically rebuild them while the old ones were still in my truck. If I move forward with the chrome, I'll take them apart before i take them in.

not sure if they are chrome or not. its just a pic i found off the web. my truck originally had west coast mirrors when i got it and judging by the finish on the vent window it looks like it was originally black.
