78 need help Tranny/transfercase

78 F-250 4x4 truck, Manual Tranny, Creaper gear/4 speed
Well after months of slow and teadious work. Removing the transfer case
the frame to frame bracket the tranny the clutch housing the clutch and
the pressure plate. Many of which weigh like 150lbs. I finally got everything
cleaned up painted blue and reinstalled. Today was the day I attached the
driveshafts. And fired her back up........Well she started and it sounded nice
with the open headers.

BUT when I shifted her into gear and started to release the clutch the truck
didn't move and it felt as if something may be jammed up in the tranny.
Because the RPM's dropped as if I was starting to move but the truck didn't
budge.

Ok here's the weird part. I removed the driveshafts and started the truck.
When I did this I notice the two yokes off of the transfercase are spinning
(it's a mesh transfer) ok that makes sense and also lets me know that the
shafts running from tranny to housing and tranny to transfercase are working
properly. And when I push in the clutch (dissengage) the yokes stop turning
so I know the clutch is working well.
What the hell could the problem be???? I will have some pictures up soon

I appreciate any help at all!

help

Here are some pictures of the installed parts
also somore explination of what the problem is.
http://www.domesticcompact.com/truck/first_one.jpg
http://www.domesticcompact.com/truck/second_one.jpg

Yes the tranny is completely mounted to the clutch housing and the
transfer case to the tranny. No gaps and went together perfectly.
No the tranny was not rebuilt so nothing changed. I did replace most of
the transfercase and tranny gaskets though.

I'm thinking maybe if I adjust the clutch somemore. Make it a little
more stiff. Could solve the problem. Cause it does seem alot more
loose than the older clutch.
BUT I never let the clutch completely out because I could feel
the binding up and something was wrong.

Anyway the best way to describe what it felt like was. When I started to release the clutch it
felt as if I had the parking brake on and the truck was stalling out because it wasn't moving.
No the parking brake isn't on it doesn't have parking brakes.

Thanks for the help

Mike

Could the trans be in 2 gears. For example the trans was in gear when you removed the shifter, you reinstalled it in the neutral position. Does the truck move with trans in neutral?

When we removed the tranny we didn't take the the shifter
off until it was completely out of the truck. And I made sure
it was in neutral. Also right now I can move the stick shift
side to side and it feels as though it's in nuetral. The transfercase
shifter lever also moves freely and seems to be fine. I'm
completely stumped.
I appreciate the help though
keep the suggestions coming...please

With the drive lines removed can you still roll the truck by hand to make sure the axles and brakes are still free to turn?
