Anyone install these Bilstein 5100 0-2.5 adjustable shocks on their ex? I have a 2000 x xlt 4wd I want to get these instead of lifting the ex. Would it hut to install both fron and back at the 2.5 in lift level without putting a strain on anything else? Do you your these on both fron an rear?
They are for coil sprung vehicles, your Ex has leaf springs.
the adjustable part is they have diffrent settings for the spring seat so you can adjust the coil spring height which will change the ride height of a vehicle.
that said, I have run the 5100 series for leaf springs and they are just “ok” not my preference for their valving, at about 1/2 the cost I prefer the KYB monomax,

I have Bilstein shocks installed on the front of my 99F250. If you have the stock replacement Bilstein 5100's for a leaf spring truck/Excursion you don't need to adjust them. They are designed for either stock or leveling kit application.
