66 on Sunday, can hardly believe it. Well, actually I can. Still trying to adjust to retirement. Cleaning out the garage at a glacial pace. Apparently, I was in the habit of buying or otherwise acquiring extension cords. Dozens, all sizes combined. Jigsaws, palm sanders, belt sanders, circular saws. Must be how the founders of Harbor Freight got started--found themselves surrounded and put out a for-sale sign.
Good March 1st So Cal, Sean and all stopping by the Weekend Eve.
Have a great day and remember to party responsibly tonight least you become the hew YouTube sensation!
What's Irish and comes out in the spring?
Paddy O'Furniture!
Now that is too good!
No sign of Spring out here, but it should arrive any month now...
We know in West Virginia spring is hear when the State flower pops up, the State bush blooms, the hedges are all neat in a row and growing and the state tree is starting to show some color!
Some months ago, my wife noticed a toy bus sitting on the hood of my YJ. Perched there nicely, obviously placed there with care. We figured someone must have found it along the sidewalk, and thought it might belong to us, and we didn't think much more about it. It was a neat little all metal toy (rare these days), was made in the Philippines, and the grille was similar to a 7 slot Jeep grille.
There is an older gentleman that walks up our street on his way to work. Not every day, but frequently enough that we are sometimes heading out the door as he is passing by. We often will talk for a few moments, usually something about the Jeep, which he seems to be interested in. Sometimes about travel, and that he was a career Greyhound driver. Any place we mention going to, he always knows just where it is and has probably been there. Eventually he asked if we had found a toy on the hood of the Jeep, and only then did Carol and I make the connection. He had bought it while on a trip to the Philippines and had purchased it with us in mind, and not wanting to bother us, had just left it on my hood. He had no idea that we had a 3yo grandson, so I told him the boy had been playing with that toy whenever he was at our home. This obviously made the gentleman very happy.
Fast forward to last week, I hear a knock on the door, in the middle of the day while I am working, and it is this gentleman. He has this toy military truck and jeep which he has purchased and wants our grandson to have it. Hunter hasn't seen it yet, but I know he is going to love it!
The world is still full of people with wonderful loving hearts, and this kind gentleman is among them.

We’ll get there too Rod, but still avoiding pot holes at the moment.

That's a great neighbor story!
Serving suggestion: Have those toys tested for lead paint, and beware, that truck has widow maker rims.....
He said he had 3 years on his contract and wanted to fulfill it. Stage 4 CA was announced and with that type he has known it for some time. I wish him the best, Thoughts and Prayers!
Pancreatic usually sneaks up on you and you're cooked. We knew a fellow a few years back who was gone less than two months after diagnosis. At the time I read there was no screening or routine testing of any value. By the time they find it, it's too late. Some folks do make it quite a bit of time. I am not sure if that's luck or improved medicine. Hope he makes it a decent amount of time.
