The dolly was operated by a winch, let the boat roll out of the basement and let the water float it off of the dolly. Just have to remember to tie it off so you won't loose it down stream. LOL

My folks lost their house boat one Spring when it was Wintered on a seawall that never flooded until that year. The water came up and floated it off of the cradle during the night.
The harbor master rounded it and others up and tied them in slips. Needless to say dad was really pissed! From that point on it stayed in the water all Winter.
