Ford 7RT carburetor
Working on a 53 8BA engine with a ford 7rt carb. My question is the linkage from the throttle lever to the accelerator rod goes in a hole in the accelerator rod there is a tiny spring in that rod should there be a tiny steel ball on top of the spring to make it a detent.

Edit: Looking at it under a magnifying glass, it is a small cylindrical sleeve with a round top.
