Hello, I am new to the forum although I have been reading it for two years. I have my granddaddy's (1900-1985) 1952 F-1. My daddy inherited it and gave it to me. It was the only vehicle my granddaddy ever owned in my lifetime, I'm 58. It was a farm truck in Alabama. I have had the truck about 12 years, it was running when I brought it home just no brakes after setting up almost 20 years. In March of 2017 I started the restoration. I made good progress over the summer. The frame had been blasted and painted, replaced all brake components, replaced suspension and the chassis was rolling. Engine rebuilt (239 V8), sent transmission to Van Pelt for rebuild and then hunting season came around and I quit on it. It set until three weeks ago when I got motivated to plow forward. I will post pictures soon(I read it takes a little learning how to post pictures). By the way, it is going back all stock original.
Welcome! You have come to the right place for help and encouragement for your project. I too am working on a family heirloom. I hope you enjoy your experience as much as I have. I like your plan to keep your truck original. As much as possible, I wanted to keep my truck faithful to my memory and my Dad's experience with it.
