gear suggestions please
I've been thinking about putting new gears in my 85 f150. I'm running 33's w/ 3.08's now, and was thinking about going to either 3.73 or 4.11. I don't drive much on the highway, but would like it to still be able to if I had to. Are 4.11's too low of a gear for 33's or would you go to 3.73's? It has the 4 speed manual too, w/ a super low granny gear. My 3.08's just don't seem to be cutting it since I added the 33 inch tire. Thanks for all your input.

IMHO - the 4.11's are going to be your best bet. With the 33's you'll feel like you have 3.73's...almost. I wish I had put the 4.11's under my '83 instead of the 3.73's. Now all I can hope for is not having the hankering for 35's!!!

Well, I am the owner of a 86 F-250 diesel. The rear in it now has 3:55 gears, which work very nicely. I bought a new rear with posi traction 4:11's, but I beleive the 4:11 will make my diesel rev too high, so I do not know what to do eather. But if you want 4:11 gears, I amy have some for you
