The "33 Int. D1 is also in the Mag w/ the First Ride . 235 of some of the most correct pristine iron in the nation .The '28 Graham Bros Hack belongs to some good friends in our car club . Barb Joyce who along w/ her husband Ed show in the National circuit was the one who judged the First Ride best in Class at the Elliott show 2017 . First Ride scored between 362 & 390 out of 400 points at this AACA Winter Meet .The 2 -'35 Chevy Suburbans (same owner) were awesome )
Beautiful weather--beautiful cars! Thanks for sharing Denny and congratulations on Firstrider doing so well. I like the Studebaker. My brother still has a supercharged Studebaker that got him into a little trouble when he was a teenager.
Hey, Abe. It was -9F this morning. This is what 38 inches of snow looks like on your deck:
Agreed! If your pics are representative, the spectators at the AACA Winter Meet had some interesting vehicles to look at. I'm just starting my car show career, and I'd add Mustangs to your list of over exposed cars.
Jim
I forgot about Chevy Camaro. I'd put them on the over exposed list too. Lots of times the Mustangs, Corvettes, and Camaros at car shows aren't even very old.
Currently n Kentucky we don't have the sun or the snow. Just mud. Lots and lots of mud. The ground is so saturated it can't hold up the trees in heavy wind.
Back on topic: Thanks for always showing a range of vehicles in your show reports. It's nice to see something different.
Denny on your score, do they tell you why you lose points or do you just get a score with no feedback?
Jonathan
JB, you start w/ 400 & deduct from there . You must score 362 or higher to achieve your First Junior award . As stated the truck scored between 362 & 390 . Received a max. deduction of 10 points for the bed wood not being painted body color . That is just too damn bad as it will never be painted . That wood came from Grandpa's mill , I milled it in 1970 and being a 3rd gen wood worker / cabinet maker painting oak is a sin . You can contact a man named Bruce at the AACA in Hershey by mail only & he will send you a break down on what points were deducted & for what . Will do that by next Feb when the AACA Winter Meet will be in Miami . Arrive armed lol . Get your truck done by end of the yr. & you can come down for the show. Make sure your head lights are of the correct make , model & # . ! Have a spare room w/ a bad *** mattress .
Thanks I have the correct headlights but plan on running halogens around here. Can you gain points for items like the turn signal and windshield washer?

JB , head lights Sealed Beam Platform Type # AOA-13007 -A Marked FORD on back of bulb . Turn signals would be a deduction as not factory . Washer is a factory option & would be OK .

why would turn signals be a deduction, it was an option also, I have a NOS one still in the box and it’s in the parts book?

OOPS Wrong on that one. Will check the factory option brochure in the truck . The owner always knows more about the vehicle than the judges . I do not think they caught the 2 different head lights on the truck as I was watching them .You have to look real close at hem to distinguish brand . Watching a set on upay now . $230 for the pair .Tempting . What do you think ?
Sounds like you need to take pictures of the boxes and a parts book to avoid penalties. Can’t wait to get to that point. I read in an AACA judging guideline book that they gave a penalty for stainless bed runners but it didn’t mention stained boards. I would just have to take a penalty on that one as my boards will be stained hickory.
