Tailgate

I have a '96 F-150 and the brushed aluminum plate on the back of the tailgate (not the reflective strip...the entire aluminum piece) has come loose in the center on the bottom. Does this piece simply attach with metal clips like most moldings do? If so, are these clips readily available at any parts store? Thanks for the help.

Tailgate

The aluminum trim piece is actually held on with screws that go all the way through the tailgate. The screws go in to long (about 3") plastic pieces that stick through the tailgate. What happened is one or more of the plastic pieces broke, and now the trim is loose.

in other words , call ford , or go to your local salvage yard and see if you can score some replacement plastic pieces, good luck
