door lock problem
First time poster, long time reader here. I've come across a problem with the door locks on my in-law's 99 F-150. The locks will not lock or unlock with the remote or at the door switches.
When I hit the remote I can hear the relays inside the truck click. The fuse is good but when my father-in-law took it somewhere to have it looked at they put in a 30a fuse when all is required is a 15a. According to my book, it seems the problem is in the door switches or the door motors.
I am worried that by putting in the larger fuse they may have burned the door lock motors or the lock switches. Any ideas on how to proceed. I was thinking about putting the swithces from my truck(97 F150 ) in to his to test them, but I am worried they might get burned as well, if that is the problem.
Thanks for any help you can give.
