test cooling system

i'm thinking of buying a cooling system tester, but not real sure of what would be compatible with my 6.9. adapters? in a doable price range?

You can generally rent a cooling system tester from the auto parts store. Any normal tester should fit on the 6.9l/7.3l IDI radiataor.

Can't recommend the Mityvac, bought one, used it once or twice, stored it in the basement at a constant temp and after a year or so it leaks air like a sieve between the two plastic
halves.

You get the $200 back when you return the tool. You also might check at different auto parts stores. I'm surprised that Auto Zone wants $200 to rent a cooling system tester.

money back is good, but still a steep dent, however temporary, in budget. i am leaning more toward just buying one. a nice back up addition to the spare toolbox.
