Hi, I was wondering if anyone could tell me any cheap ways of getting easy power/torque.

I have my 2.9L right of my 87 ranger. I have it ripped down to just the block and pistons( still in ) I have the heads, center dome,intake offf is there anything i can do from there that is not to hard besdies port job( i was just going to do gasket match ) I was thinking a nice mild cam would be nice, but i would loe to hear your suggestions.!
