What are the small multi-colored lines running through the engine compartment? I believe they are part of the evaporative emission system, but I can't find any information on them.
They are vacuum lines of various sorts. Some are emissions, some are HVAC, and some are for front hubs on 4x4 trucks, but vacuum is their primary function.

Thank you! I was finally able to figure mine out. I had several broken vacuum lines to the 4x4 system. When I finally traced them in the daylight, I was able to figure where they went. I appreciate the response!
