Does anyone know where to find door handle covers? I'm looking to get rid of my chrome covers & paint a set in magnetic (J7), but it seems that most part suppliers only have complete door handle assemblies. All I need is the cover/cap!
I do not know of anywhere you can buy the covers separately. your best bet is to have the chrome removed then painted to match. another option is to vinyl wrap them but I think that would be more difficult.
Ford does not sell just the handle covers, you have to buy the entire handle assembly. There is no part number for the OEM handle covers. Many of the eBay handle covers are just covers that tape over your existing covers.
You can send your chrome handle covers to Retro Customz and have them painted to match for $125, that's what I did.
Another option is to prime, paint and clear coat the chrome cover-ups yourself (~$12 from Home Depot). I did the buckets on my truck and was pleased. (I wanted the color matching buckets and chrome handles...mine are all black and stuck out too much for my liking.)

Thanks - I spent an hour the other night on ebay looking for OEM stuff. I quickly realized there are only complete handle assemblies. haha
I'll have to check out retro customz if it don't paint them myself.

Thanks H20 - I actually found your thread the other day & it inspired me to look at painting the caps myself. I ordered Magnetic J7 paint online in a rattle can.
My plan is to to pull the handle covers and mirror caps & prep & paint them myself. Worst case is I'll take them to a local paint shop & pay them to fix my mess, but looking at some youtube videos I think I can do it!
My question is if they're stick on covers, or snap on ones. My preference is to REPLACE the factory covers (I'm not a big fan of the stick on stuff - they always seem/feel cheap to me) not just stick on covers over the factory ones.
