My '69 dash only has a fuel gauge and a temperature gauge. Below the fuel gauge is a light for ALT.
My question is: If I were to buy new replacement gauges for the oil pressure and ammeter, would it be as simple as replacing existing gauges, or since the truck did not have these originally, would they even work? Would there be a place to mount them?
Would there be a place to plug in a bulb in these locations?
An ammeter is rather useless in my opinion. Concur on having it a voltmeter.
'Cant' just plug n play on gauges cuz of their calibration to the OE senders. Get a kit from the likes of Stewart Warner, VDO, Doplhin, Autometer or Autogage. The latter is Autometer's entry-level products... the next question is mechanical or electrical. Your call. Electrical is much easier to install.

Thank You for the advice. You probably saved me a ton of problems.
