Been having a wandering idel rpm problem. Also some hestation and Code 41 HEGO Lean. Prior to this all was fine and the EGR went bad. Replaced that and got this wangering thing. Fuel pressure with the key off was 50 psi and like 90 psi with the engine running. As soon as I turned the engine off the pressure gauge dropped to 0 psi. Pluged the vacuum line to the pressure regulator remained 90 psi. I can hear the intank FDM running. Have also changed the fuel filter, plugs wires new, dist cap and rotor good, no vacuum leaks. I think it is the pressure regulator causing this. Any suggestions or help Please??????
Also after you disconect the "spring clips" from the fuel lines how do you put em back together??
Sorry if this sounds stupid but I am new to the engine diagnosing thing.
Should also add that the fuel pressure was about 40psi then I heard the "whirring" sound of the intank pump come on and the pressure jumped to 90psi.

Thanks Shawn

90psi???? It should be around 32 idling and 38 to 44 without vacuum to the regulator. It sounds like you may have a restriction in your return line or something.
Or your alternator is putting out like 20volts or something putting way too much voltage to the pumps.

Well the problem is fixed FINALLY! I replaced the pressure regulator, Cleaned the injectors while it was apart and cleaned the throttle body etc while it was apart. Pressure is now 32 when running the key off and 38-40 psi with the key on. Also she runs better now. I hope this was all.
