Oil pan repair complications
Hello all. I bought a brand new 2017 lariat, in June of 2017. 3.5 eco. Beautiful truck. With about 25000 km on it, at the dealerships advice, an oil pan leak was repaired. At the next oil change, the leak was still evident, so at about 35000 km, the entire oil pan assembly was changed out, and a new one installed. I'm not sure about the leak yet, but the smell of burning grease or oil is awful. My wife drove it about 600 km yesterday and described the smell as unbearable, and half jokingly said the cab filled with smoke. To top it off, when she got home the check engine light was on. I had called Ford, and they felt that the new parts were just burning off grease, oil, paint. But now with the engine light I'm doubtful. Any educated ideas on this? Thanks, Mark

However, since you now have a check engine light and the FordPass/SYNC app said you have a misfire, you should take it back into your Ford dealer and have them read the code.
Let us know what happens.
