Front end repair

I need to replace something to make the noise go away when I lock my hubs. I'm guessing the U-joints can be rebuilt and the bearings are no big deal but what what else? I inherited this truck from my dad so I'm not worried about money. It works in 4X4 mode no problem other than some noise but like I said, there must be some loose stuff under there. I'm also seeing play in the lower ball joint so that will have to be replaced also.

1. Is there a kit I can buy for the U-joints?
2. Is there a kit for the wheel bearing? (I have the hub kit 20.00 from the ford Dealer)
3. Is there something else I should or could change? Spider gears etc....

Well I can't really diagnose the problem. What kind of noise is it and when does it happen?

I makes a grinding noise in forward or reverse when the hubs are locked but still in 4X2. The noise is much less noticeable when I engage 4X4 and I can drive with not problems. It's annoying for now but I'm sure I should attend to the problem ASAP. I have already checked the bearings, repacked them and there is no play. I also checked the diff and it was fine. I changed the fluid just for the heck of it since I didn't know when the last time it was changed.

Does it vibrate? if it does then most likely its a u-joint, out the 3-5 or so joints i wouldn't know, but best bet is that it would be the one closest to where the vibration is.

I got it!!! The output shaft from the transfer case was so loose, I can only guess it was never put in correctly. I went to the local parts store, and for nine bucks, I'm running great. Smooth as buttah....Thanks.
