Deep Sleep Mode

Surprised that my Ford pass sent this to me. I'm wondering if it's because of not driving it or the extreme cold -15 were having right now. I think the last time I drove it was probably around the new year. Probably both. Nice to see its conserving battery power. I'll fire it up this weekend and drive it a little.

Did anything show up on the dash of the truck? The reason I ask is I have a '17 350 6.2 and I have gone about 2 weeks without starting at times and have never seen anything in the cluster about this. I don't have ford pass and was just wondering.

I'll let you know when I fire it up saturday. It's frozen in 2 feet of snow right now. Suppose to hit 50 this weekend.

Very cool feature and it`s nice that one gets an alert via the app on a phone.
Have you tried to start your vehicle through the app?
After receiving the message, that would have been the perfect time to try it out.

Last week I got the same message. I left my F350 Diesel parked at our vacation house over 2 weeks ago. I tried to remote start but when it goes into deep sleep you loose ability to communicate with the truck. It won’t even update location. The last location update on the app is 1/26.

I went and started my '19 F-350 STX 6.2 today and when I opened the door, there was a message on the screen that said I had to use the key and manually start it because it had went into sleep mode to conserve battery. I don't have a smart phone, therefore no app, but saw this thread and was curious. However, I had started it a few days prior and not 2 weeks like some of you have mentioned. It did get down to -30 something this week, so it must sense the outside temperature and "go to sleep". I'm sure it's in the owners manual. Isn't there a thread about people not using their manual...lol I was gonna look it up while I was out there, but it was cold haha

Hmmm, very interesting and strange at the same time.

The FordPass system app has the ability to send this message to your phone and at the same, one cannot send a message back to FordPass to start your truck?

There must be some kind of reset of the electrical system once the door of the truck is actually opened or after one puts their foot on the brake pedal before attempting to start it. But then again, if one is attempting to start the truck via the app, one would think that such a start signal would reset everything back to non Deep Sleep Mode.

Kind of defeats the purpose of starting the vehicle via the app if you ask me but then again, maybe it has something to do with how cold it is outside or if it`s a diesel.

I live in GA and I`ve had my vehicle parked for 2-4 weeks at a time on several occasions without starting it and I`ve never received a Deep Sleep message via the FordPass app.

The deep sleep probably disables communications in order to save battery. If it wants a deep sleep, it's best to let it sleep until you are ready to use the truck again.

It might be a safety thing too........imagine the truck in deep snow and the tail pipe is buried under hard packed drifted snow............

First I have heard of this one. A very nice protective feature.

Fired it up today. First time in weeks and also after the deep freeze of last week. I did get a message on the screen but she fired right up no problems.

I had the message and I was able to remote start from the fob - hadn't driven the truck in over 3 weeks and it hit -30*F here a few days in a row. Fired right up - zero problems.

I guess the start up signals are different between the fob and the app on the phone.
