rough running?
88 new 2.9 auto.....new rebuild in feb..... i few times now i have noticed when i park the truck for a day or two. and start it it runs real rough .it does not stall but its shaking badly , but after about one minite it runs fine??..... only after a day or two without starting it! it always runs great if i start it everyday!!......any ideas??.................john

my 2001 2.3 does it all the time. for the 1st minute or 1/2 mile it runs rough and I can't really use 1st because it bucks too much. after 1 minute or 1/2 mile it smooths out w/out any problems at all. it's done this from day 1 off the delaers lot.

I see i'm not the one that has this problem. I have a '94 3.0 5spd and it does the same thing. When i first crank it, it wants to run funny. But, if i hit the gas once or twice, it will even out. You might want to try this.

Sounds like a fuel flow problem. Try testing your fuel pump pressure. Have you changed the fuel filter? Could be partially clogged. Do you notice this if the tank is full or near empty. Make sure you have constant pressure flow. Try turning the key to 'on' without starting it for 10 secs then staring it and let it idle.

same with my 94 4.0, it seems if you drive it for a while, then shut it off, come back 15 min later and start it it will run rough until you rev it a couple of times, then it all smothes out, i've been thinking maybe a piston isnt fireing at first, then after you rev the engine it pics up, just my thought on the problem though.
