Sounds like something is leaking or the turbo is not spinning freely. My 2000 Excursion has an SXE turbine in the stock .84 housing and billet wheel. Wastegate is adjusted in a few turns also. With no tune (stock 235hp) it spools effortlessly and tows great below 2000rpm. What I have also noticed is the heavier turbine wheel maintains boost easier. My other truck has an SXE Van on an 85hp tune and it squeezes out 4psi @ 1500rpm.

Good luck getting it sorted out.

The problem is that Wesley is NOT the only one having problems with the KC turbine wheel in a .84 housing (stock) turbo.

It appears that you and Brandon are the only two that have positive things to say about the KC wheel.

Brandon has a "well tuned butt dyno" and you have produced blurry videos that are inconclusive.

Kinda early to mudsling. Yet...

So far im consistently maxing out at 35psi EBP, in any tune. So possibly an uppipe leak? Possibly boost side? Idk yet. Haven't had a chance to check anything since i got it all back together Saturday night.

Have a couple dozen steps planned for tomorrow on day off, so hope to know more in 24 hrs.

Was not mud slinging, well I was not intentionally slinging anyway.

Just stating facts.

Hope you get good numbers! I’m in the same boat that you are with your truck. We both use it to tow heavy camper’s. I hope you figure it out. I’m sitting on the fence, but leaning towards leaving it out?

Wesley...Have you contacted KC for any direction?

Having my now brother! Been a long few days getting the in laws house ready for MIL to get out of hospital.

I am a very direct and to the point person. In my 22 years of service, I found beating around the bush was a waste of time. I call things as I see them. Sometimes I am wrong, and I am just as quick to admit that.

I am still adjusting to civilian life, but think I will always be direct and to the point.

Just my personal experience, and not saying it is some great thing either. I bought 2 of them as a beta tester for cheap and now have around 10,000 miles on them combined. A good amount of towing with each and have never felt it was a downgrade over stock. It is still a stock sized turbo so don't expect some miracle.

I was worried the 1.15 housing with a ZF-6 would be a little doggy and hurt drivability but was pleasantly surprised to see that it spools about same as the stock turbo, but with better power under both partial and heavy throttle. I have to assume the billet wheel and turbine combo have to account for some of that because all else equal a 1.15 housing should spool noticeably slower than the .84 wastegated one.

I will have to stop short of being positive on that specific part. "Not negative" would be fair however.

Other people on here have given it poor reviews? Do tell.
