8BA identification

We have an 8BA with a bell housing code F2424 with an R on the middle of the bell housing and a 55 on the right rear where the intake mounts. Can you help us with any decoding or information? The timing cover has a camshaft preload bolt or thrust bolt installed, and the flywheel uses a 9-1/2" clutch. Thanks, this is our first flat head.

Hey, FSCBoss,

You will find most of the Flathead folks hang out over in the '48-'56 forum. You will be more likely to get some good answers there.
