Rear Bumper Options

The OEM rear bumpers are nearly impossible to find in good shape. So, I have a Westin FEY SureStep XLT from Summit. It looks great, but I do wish it wrapped around the bed corners to give a more original fit and appearance. It also is not very strong on the corners and has no reinforcement like the stock bumper does. I have actually had to bend the corner back into shape which I could do by hand after very small bumps or even standing on the corner. I remember having a Hercules bumper on a 95 XL years ago. Its too bad bumpers like that are no longer available. I just have not seen nearly as many options for rear bumpers for our trucks anymore. I like Ranch Hand because they are really tough but just don't want the added weight and prefer to keep chrome. I see a few hideous futuristic rock crawler style bumpers, that is just gross. Ha... I guess I'm really just curious to see what everyone else has found or has on their truck. Really prefer a stock or classic period correct look. I may have asked this a few years back, but maybe something else is available now.

I've been hoarding chrome rear bumpers for a couple years. When a decent one pops up on Craigslist, I grab it. I usually pay around $75-100 for them. The most I paid was $125 I think. I've got 4 or 5 of them I think.

Does anyone have this Reflexxion bumper? It is about as close to original as I've seen. At least it has corner braces with the Westin FEY doesn't.

I can't remember the last time I saw a nice OEM bumper that wasn't on a nice truck. I've been looking for years now for one, and have given up.

None of them are perfect, they all have a small dent or a few scuffs, but they all are solid and have good chrome. The one is tweaked a little bit, but not enough that you'd notice once it's on the truck. They are out there. And I'm in salty, rusty Pennsylvania, you should be able to find much more solid ones down south.

That one from RockAuto looks pretty close to stock. If you swapped the top plastic piece for an OE one, I doubt anyone could tell them apart.

All the ones I see in my area are trashed. I haven't seen a decent one in about 10 years.

I kinda like it, hopefully it is good quality and not cheesy. It is nice that it actually wraps around the corner of the bed. I don't think any other one does that.

Hopefully the metal is thick like the OE ones. The factory rear bumpers are some thick *** steel. It's pretty hard to dent them even with a hammer.

Does anyone have anything to say about how well this one from Rock Auto has held up after having it for a while?

This is what I find to be a flaw with these Westin FEY bumpers. They have no corner support bracing like they should.

The Hercules bumpers were pretty stout but I don't think anyone makes this style anymore. My friend had this one years ago. Does anyone know if these are still produced by another company?

I've never seen one of those, that's sharp looking.

They are fully welded and much stronger than OEM.
