I have a 2001 F-250 SD with the 5.4. I noticed that a few months ago, my truck would sometimes stall out for no reason. However, over the last three weeks the stalls are getting more frequent. I mean I am traveling 65 MPH on the highway and the truck stalls without warning. Sometimes she will start right up and sometimes it might take 30 - 45 minutes. I took vehicle in for service, (after removing Diablo Chip), and they could not find anything wrong with truck. I put chip back in and my stalling problems are back. (I just could not stand driving without the chip for too long as the power and performance with the chip is incredible). Also, the stalling seems to happen more in wet rainy weather. Stalled three times yesterday within 10 miles.
Can anyone offer some advise and / or could there be a problem with the chip. I have had the chip for over a year and everything seemed fine until recently. (Truck just had new fuel filters changed and fuel injection service performed.
Okay, first thing is take some amonia and go over the contacts with that. Let it dry and then secure the chip firmly with duct tape. This should resolve it.
