Any tips on how to get a PCO.?????????
I'm going to order a truck before the end of the month and would love to save a few more bucks. Do I have to have it before I order or just before I take delivery ?
I’ve been working hard for a PCO, no dice (except for multiple flyers for 7.9% interest, big deal)! I’ll take delivery of the F350 around the first of February, I’m sure I’ll receive the PCO about two days after delivery!
I ordered a 2019 F-350 in early October. Before doing so, I called the Ford Customer Service Department, PCO Division at (800) 334-4375 and opened an account in late September. I did this while inquiring to Ford about a PCO, something I had never heard of until I read about it on this forum. On the day that I ordered the truck, 10 October, I received a $750 PCO. I found out about it when I called them and asked if I had one. They are the people who told me to call back regularly to confirm receipt of a PCO. I had NEVER owned a Ford in my life nor did I have any app on my phone. When that PCO expired on 31 October, I called on 1 November and was told I had a new one for $2000 that was good until 2 January. I used it when I picked up my truck on 14 December. It made a great XMAS present from Ford.
I have seen many people post on this forum about their unsuccessful efforts to secure a PCO. I am beginning to think that I was in the right place at the right time. Initially I figured that it was simple to secure a PCO since it was so easy and successful for me. I have heard that the $750 one is the common PCO.
I was also told by the PCO division that the PCOs are doled out in blocks of 100 or so, once a month or so but possibly more often. I would recommend that anyone serious about obtaining a PCO redouble their efforts with the PCO division. Order a brochure and take at least one, preferably more, test drives. You MUST arrange the test drive through the PCO division at that phone number, otherwise they don’t know you took one. This apparently is something that clearly expresses your desire to buy a Ford Super Duty truck, and it expresses it to the people that matter. The dealer does not matter in this regard from what I was told.
Lastly, be aware that the PCO division at that number does NOT dole out the PCOs. They are distributed by a marketing firm that Ford hires. So pleading with the PCO department does absolutely no good. However I strongly suspect that they pass information along to the marketing firm, such as the fact that you took a test drive at a particular dealership. I will say that I ordered my truck from the dealership where I did my first test drive which might have been influencial in me getting the bump up to the $2000 PCO.
If you get a PCO, register the certificate number with your dealer. It can be deleted and a new certificate number entered if you get a more generous PCO before you take delivery. That is what happened to me. By the way, I never received email notification or verification of the PCO. The only way I knew about it was by calling, and calling and calling (800) 334-4375. They read me the certificate number over the phone, and I immediately passed it along to my dealership.
I came across a link on this site last summer that got me a $3K PCO. At the time I was "preparing" myself to order a '19 F250. As soon as the PCO came off my printer, went to my dealer an ordered. Eight weeks later I took delivery on the best truck I have ever owned, (not the first one I have ordered). Paid $500 under invoice, $500 Rebate and $3000 PCO. Worked out to about $7000 off MSRP on an XLT exactly how I wanted it. I have never found a truck on the lots optioned to my way.
I'm getting ready to order a 550. Do they offer them for cab & chassis trucks?
I transferred it to my company name just fine on my F250. I am the guarantor on the loan but I’ll move it to my credit union or commercial bank sometime this year because even though it wont show on my credit I have to report that when taking business loans. I have the price in writting.
I got mine by going to Ford site, requesting brochure, then choosing Email and indicating that you want to purchase on 1-3 month. Did this for 3 email addresses and was able to get one for $3k prior to my order coming in.
