Plug on rear end
I bought a rear end out of a 2002 F-150 truck and it is disc brakes. I want to put it in my 69 Ford F-100, but there is some electrical wires on the pumpkin and I don't know what they are for. The rear end numbers V828A, 3 55 88 1K18. I can tell by the numbering that it does not have a locker. That is something I will add, but the wires on the pumpkin have me at a loss.

They are usually for the speed sensor. They use this for the speedometer on the newer trucks, as well as the ABS system, the cruise control, and the engine computer looks at this signal to know road speed so it can control the transmission among other things. If you are going to run some sort of fancy fuel injection on your old truck, and it needs a vehicle speed sensor, you can more than likely adapt this sensor to that system.

Thank you Franklin2, No fuel injection just a plain 390 with roller cam, aluminum heads, intake, and holly 4V carb. I did measure the width of the leaf spring brackets and they are 4.5" wider that what my 69 is. I think I will need to move the brackets in 2.25" on each side and then I did not measure the full length of the rear end but if it is 4.5" wider that my 69 then I will need to order rims that have a set back of 2" for this rear end. The fun of upgrading your old trucks.
