Engine brake

i have a 2017 350 6.7L w/7k miles

when i use my engine brake and come to an idle ( traffic light) I occasionally get a low engine oil light and audible alarm for an instant. Any thoughts?

Dealer to check. Oil pressure sensor or do you have a recall on oil pump? There is a small series with oil pump issues. It would not have anything to do with the engine brake which is just operating the transmission and the VGT to create back pressure. Really, get it in to a dealer. Record the light on video if you can reproduce it.

There was a small number of trucks that had defective oil pumps. Get it to the dealer.

Same problem

I had the same issue that you are reporting. I had the truck back and forth to the dealer four or five times. We were able to narrow the problem down to a specific trailer that I was pulling. There was a problem with the trailer wiring harness that was causing feedback to the truck’s computer (odd). Once the trailer wiring was fixed, no further issues. I’ve attached a short video clip of the warning message I received on the instrument panel.
