Greetings,
I noticed yesterday that the carpet on the drivers side is wet under my left foot. I've read where roof clearance lights can leak, then run down the a pillar and drip. Is this the most likely source and is replacing the gasket the fix?
It was the source of mine. I tightened down the screw a quarter turn and it hasn't come back. I think those gaskets should be considered wear items and replaced every few years. They take abuse between the sun, heat and water.
The windshield can also leak. Depending on which truck in your signature you’re referring to, look under dash by your feet for signs of water intrusion...dust looks disturbed, corrosion etc.
My favorite body shop services multiple dealerships. I mentioned the leak to the manager and he was aware of the leaking problem with
some 2018 Ford 150 trucks. The wrong sealer was applied, mostly to driver side of trucks. Mine was factory ordered in late January
and delivered April 4. Final assembly was probably mid to late March 2018. You might check the date of your truck assembly.
Mine was covered under factory warranty and there's been no problem since. The driver side fender was removed in order to perform
the fix.
A few hundred 2018 Ford F150 trucks had the problem, with most leaks on the driver side, but a few on both sides.
