My Bosch 044 failed me agian. The only thing that ever let me down on this truck. A local guy, who started a business installing his own fuel systems on powerstrokes, told me that with a large pump like that, It will continue to fail if I use dual tanks. Something about the selector vavle screws with the pump. He recommended a super duty pump which is a smaller Bosch pump but should support my 160s. This pump is supposed to be more reliable, I've been running it for a few weeks and no problems yet. I firgued I'd share this information maybe it will help someone esle.
I do not, I only have a gauge on the regulator. The truck runs just as good with the smaller pump as far as I can tell. The only way to tell if it keeping up would be to monitor it while driving. I should invest in a fuel gauge
The last pump was purchased through summint racing, so I would like to think that was a genuine Bosch pump. I purchased one on ebay before ( 90$) and it leaked out of the electrical connects immediately. You could tell the difference between the pumps unless you had both in your hand. Really frustrating paying for a fake product, I tend to stay away from ebay and Amazon and spend the extra money on a reputable site. Is there any other super duty guys that have experience with larger injectors on stock fuel? Is there any other knowledge on dual tanks with a lift pump?
I have a fuel lab regulator with a guage under the hood, do electrical gauges get reading from that spot? I have glow shift gauges and would like to keep them all the same

How did the pump fail? Was the previous failure the "fake" mentioned that leaked immediately? This info might help eliminate other possibilities for the failures. Stock wiring?
The fake one never failed because I only ran it for a week till I got a real one in the mail. Both of the genuine pumps just stopped working while I'm driving of coarse both times in the city far away from my house. One time I was towed home. The last time(recently) I was able to get the pump back on by hitting it with a hammer. Once it was back on I had full fuel pressure. I thought maybe there was a clogg in the system so I replaced the fuel filters and drove it for a couple days. The truck felt like it was lacking power, and sure enough I had no fuel pressure agian. The injector where just pulling the fuel the whole time, no help from the pump. This is a obs truck so I just have a live wire stuffed in the fuse box. The pump is always on when the key is on. Is there a better to wire an aftermarket pump?
