My blower motor doesn't work, and I need some advice.
My truck is a 77 Ranger XLT with factory air. The blower motor has squeaked for quite a while but their such a pain to get to I put off working on it for as long as possible.
Well, Friday it quit working all together so I thought it was as good a time as any to replace it.
I now have the new one installed but guess what, it doesn't work either. It was a new one, but I did check it before I installed it and it did work. I cannot find any fuses blown to be causing the problem.
I did notice when I pulled the old blower motor that it turns fairly hard. This would have put a pretty good load on the system before I replaced it.
Is there relay or something that could have burned out? If so, where is it and how do I check it?
try looking behind the switch there is a red wire that on mine they had rigged after they took the air out to work. if that red wire isnt connected to the other red wire it may not work atleast thats what happened to mine

Mine was even more simple, the fan worked off and on then finally quit, i VISUALLY checked the fuse and it looked ok, later I pulled it out and the end fell off, the solder came loose in the fuse cap, I will ALWAYS pull a fuse to check it from now on, GOOD LUCK
i had a similiar problem on my truck and i found out that my ac control switch ..the selector switch was shorted out and wouldnt make contact without me playing with the switch ...but i would say turn the fan on and wiggle that selector switch and see if you hear the fan come on and off...thats my problem i ran into ...just a tought..
