Happy 2019 to all !
Curious if there were any Ford cars/truck from later years that came with an illuminated ignition bezel that could be used for our vintage trucks( specifically my 1975).
Thanks

Not from later years. But you can get them (if you can find them) from the late 1960's Ford cars and make them work in these trucks. Here is one I found and will be wiring into my 1978 F150. I know it can be done. I watch my dad put one into his 1977 F150.

I've never seen one of those! I'm pretty sure they never came in Mustangs. I wonder if my Dad's old '67 Galaxie 500 had one - I can't remember.
Thunderbirds, big Mercurys, and Lincolns would be my guess as to the most promising donors.
It would be cool to get a little timer circuit and relay, and run them off of the door switches to control the ignition switch light. I wonder how Henry originally wired them in. Straight off of the door switches?
IIRC they were found in the Galaxie, Fairlane, and maybe the sister Mercury and Lincoln cars. I don't recall them being offered in the Mustang. I'm sure numberdummy can clear this up once again for us. And I know my dad wired his to come on with the parking light/headlights just like the ash tray light does. So basically when the dash lights are lit so would the ignition switch light.
The ignition cylinder fits into this bezel that threads onto the switch. How can you use a bulb, since it's a solid bezel (see 11584 in Mustang pic).
After 1969, the only car to have the switch on the dash was the 1970 Falcon. 1979 was the last year the F100/350's, Bronco's and Econolines had the switch on the dash.
Bill look at my pic again. You'll see the tin plate mounted just behind the bezel that recesses the ignition switch itself. That tin plate mounts the bulb socket to the side of the switch. This was all factory for the mid-late sixties cars. You sir were the one who told me what cars to look for that would have had these as an option. In my lifetime I have only seen 4 of these switches. The one in my dads truck, the one I'm putting into my truck (pictured above), one at a local car show in a Galaxy convertible, and one in a Fairlane at the 2018 Woodward Dream Cruise. They're out there, but they're hard to find.

The bezel you posted the pic of has slots, so the light can shine thru. The C6OZ bezel does not have these slots.
I looked in the 1965/72 car parts catalog for the lighted ignition bulb listings. Info edited into my post (#6), none of these cars use the C6OZ bezel.
Update 1.5.2019
The Illuminated Ignition Bezel shown in the pictures Bezel front Bezel rear
appears to work perfectly from a fitment issue.
Bezel appearance is exactly the same as the stock F250 one, and the overall size and threads are the same as well.
There appears to be sufficient room for the illumination "shell" to fit behind the ignition itself; about 2" from center line of the ignition.
Trying to find the actual PN of the 1966 Tbird electrical socket or harness that would fit into the 66 Ignition bezel illumination hole( about .620 " dia) to make this upgrade as simple as possible.
Any leads appreciated.
Thanks

FYI, Ebay item number 352545674213 is live on Ebay right now; Not my auction.
This is the illuminated bezel only without the back side "shell" that holds the light source.
Backside shell is also on Ebay under a separate auction eBay item number:

Reason: add second item number
tbruz the only thing that I can tell you about the bulb socket for the ignition switch that I posted is that it is a standard 194 bulb socket. I however don't have a part number to help you out there. Plus my ignition switch/bezel is missing the light filter.
tbruz,
Curious if you've got an update for installation of the illuminated ignition bezel? As I indicated in the early thread, I'm keenly interested. Thanks
