I prefer Motorcraft but the DB units I have used have been fine. Just make sure the plastic air deflector is reinstalled. I have seen so many burned up alternators on 6.0 trucks. That's the main cooling source for the alternator.
Then what the heck is the darn air deflector on the shroud for? Certainly Ford wouldn't put it there just to PO someone trying to set the latch on the belt tensioner.... I've left mine on, because I think it directs air to the Alt....

We’ve had two members that have reported early failures with the Bosch 140a (Parts assembled in the USA), complaints on Amazon since 2015, my 2012 purchase was flawless. I usually recomended the Bosch first, L-N second.
I'm personally not a fan of DC alternators, but some have done well. It seems to depend on the size of the alternator.
While there is a conflict of interest between the alternator and GPCM during the initial 90 seconds (voltage cuts off the GPCM), This is a good alternative if you willing to pay the price.
First I've heard of that. I bought my son there 185 amp DC power about three years ago and it's fine. They are close to us so it made since. I just called them last week, there 180 amp is way over $400.oo dollars. They don't make the 185 anymore. Mine went out Christmas day. Started a little hard eve night but drove it home fine. Next day, no start. Put are spare ford reman on for now but have to buy one myself. I like the 230 amp you posted, a little pricey but I have heard they are good. I believe ED sells them to. Have to make my mind up also. Have a long trip planned for this summer.
