P2290

2005 Ford F-250 with arp head studs,Egr delete, new oil cooler, new glow plugs, new pushrods. Just got updated STC fitting and updated high pressure oil stand pipe and dummy rail plug kit done a couple of months ago. It’s been going good until today out of no where. Got a P2290 “injector control pressure too low” Everything was fine all day until I had to go on a drive somewhere at about 4 this afternoon. I was running about 80 down a major high way for about 20 min everything is fine all my gauges were good until I started lacking power. About 20 min into the drive I would accelerate and my icp pressure would go down instead of up. As I started slowing down my truck stalled out and I had to pull over. Hasn’t started at all since. Changed my oil today and that didn’t help. Going to get my batteries tested tomorrow morning and if they are bad I’m gonna get new ones because my battery voltage was low on my sct livewire. Some help would be much appreciated

Search this forum for air test or google 6.0 air test for tons of info.

Starting it with the ICP unplugged won't hurt anything, it just forces the PCM to use default figures for the time being.
What it will do, if your truck starts, is tell you the sensor is likely bad and it's not a HPO leak internally.

As Navistarnut recommended, air test.

Do it from the IPR with the fitting for this test. You'll kill two birds with one stone, you'll check the screen on the IPR and if that's not it, pressure test and you should get your answer. However, if your IPR doesn't have a heat sheild on it, the IPR may be toast.
