Sorry didnt think to mention that it has a 302 in it now, i know that the 81 Bronco had a 351M as an option, just not sure how the mout towers were situated between the two engines.
have you thought about the transmission... I believe the 351m (351heads with 400block) is the big block bolt pattern ie.. 460 has the same pattern.. most people put the 460 in where the 351m was since they will bolt up to the same transmission, that was the swap I was going to do on my 81' bronco which had the 351m and my 80' bronco also had the 351m... got rid of those though.... see below article:
yeah ive got the np435 that was mated to the 351m. eventually i will have a FI 460 in there but for now due to financial limitations, I have a warmed over 351M to put in
no the towers are not the same. the 302 and 351m are to different blocks. you may need to have some custom made because i dont believe that motor was an option for that year but the 351w was. best thing to do would be find a rig at a wrecking yard with that same setup and get the towers. or see if the ones out of your 77 will work.
